Resources

We love talking with parents and families about raising great kids. We don't do this work alone though. There are TONS of great people and organizations out there doing work that we deeply respect. It takes all of us to create thriving communities.

Check out some of our colleagues and friends for great resources:

Parenting

Search Institute is the new home of the National Institute on Media and the Family. Their parenting Web site ParentFurther hosts great advice on everything from technology to drugs and alcohol to reading readiness.

We've guest blogged on Deborah McNellis' great site BrainInsights a couple of times. We love that she is bringing information about brain science and early childhood to more families and caregivers.

School Climate

Youth Frontiers is helping make sure that schools are a place where student thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. Their high energy retreats emphasize critical character traits like courage, kindness, respect, responsibility, and wisdom. We are collaborating with them on a retreat for school staff and teachers called the Mind Retreat - check it out!

Families and Technology

We always check in with the Center on Media and Child Health for summaries of the latest research. The research links, parent tips, and sound advice are fantastic.

Common Sense Media has one of the best rating systems around - created by parents and experts for parents and families! Next time you are going to buy your kids a new video game or tickets to a move check out Common Sense Media first.
